So you’ve been invited to a baby shower yet again, and are sick of buying the same old, same old. Why not choose to do something different? Nowadays almost everyone is doing gift baskets. But why not do something a little different. Create a gift basket that will let the new parents you put some thought into your gift. Use your imagination when making your baby gift basket. There are literally hundreds of different baby baskets you can create. Here are some ideas to get those creative juices going and that will help you create something unique yet practical for the new parents.

Here you are with yet another baby shower to go to, and yet another picked over list to choose from. Getting bored with the same routine? Create a gift that will be not only very useful to the new parents, but also something that will be truly unique. If the parents know what they are going to have, you can do a basket based on whether it’s a boy or a girl.
For a boy a plastic red wagon filled with lots of baby boy things. Of course in blue, since blue is the color most parents will put on their baby boy during the first few months anyway. Just so strangers don’t mistake them for a little girl. You can put some receiving blankets, bottles and diapers in the wagon. You can include some small baby boy toys or stuffed animals. Even a plush football, baseball or sports themed items will be great.
For a baby girl, almost anything can be used. As long as its pretty and frilly. Some cute little dresses, a pink bathtub, some pink ribbons and frilly socks. Of course you can include the essentials like diapers, lotions, wipes and baby bathing products as well.
If you don’t know what the sex of the child is, create something all your own. Focus on one aspect of the new baby’s life and the various items that will go along with it.
Bath time – use a baby bath as your base; fill it with towels and washcloths, some pajamas, mild soaps and shampoos and of course lotions and bath toys.
Bedtime – You can use a bassinette as your base (if the parents to be don’t already have one), fill it with blankets, plush toys, some crib accessories, a mobile etc. Use your imagination try to think what a baby would like or need when it goes to sleep.

Feeding time – if the new parents are going to bottle feed baby, include lots of bottles, a bottle cleaner, and various bibs in assorted colors. If you can afford it use a highchair as your base and fill the seat and tray with the items a baby will need for feeding including of course baby-feeding utensils.
Changing time – for this, if you are the one purchasing this item, use the changing table as your base; include lots of diapers in various sizes (babies grow quick), as well as lotions, wipes and powders. If you aren’t buying the changing table, use a diaper pale it will work the same as the table; you can put all the various items associated with changing time in it.
As with all gift baskets you’re going to want to wrap everything into one package. This is easily done with colored or printed cellophane. You can purchase these at your local craft store. Then simply place a nice bow on the package and your basket is complete.
